This course is for professionals from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds who aspire to solve public health problems. Students often want to move into a leadership or management role and find the content – which covers everything from planning evaluation studies to designing a public health programme – comprehensive and relevant. This programme will equip you with skills in research methods and theoretical knowledge in public health sciences, which you will need to, lead and evaluate public health programmes. Our approach is non-clinical and informed by evidence-based practice. We explore how public health is mapped and measured, and use case studies to unpick how socio-economic and political forces influence the public health agenda. We also consider the unique ethical issues that arise within public health interventions. The Masters in Public Health is an internationally recognized degree. Our graduates work globally in the public and private sectors including international agencies, charities, government, industry and private practice. Students will be able to use the strong foundation in public health theory and research methods gained on the course to work within professional bodies and study at doctoral level. During this course students will also achieve PgCert and PgDip awards.
