The Master of Event Management (Extension) equips students with the advanced management skills and knowledge necessary for management positions in the broad and multifaceted event industry. This course builds professional excellence in the area of event management, along with an applied and complex understanding of processes and practices linked to general business management. With this intent in mind, the course includes subjects that develop an understanding of the event creation, planning and delivery process, and general business subjects that serve to build an appreciation of organizational leadership and management. The additional elective subject choices provide an opportunity to specialize more deeply in event management and related fields, and further enhance students' management skills, professional practice, specialist knowledge and capabilities. Course aims The aim of this course is to develop in students advanced professional skills and knowledge associated with the position of event manager, as well as the high-level general business management competencies needed to develop or manage complex organizations involved in the production of public, corporate or other event types.
