专业简介
The Master of Digital Information Management is part of an articulated program designed to produce information professionals able to create and manage information which is increasingly in digital formats. It also examines strategies and practices for the delivery of knowledge services for both organisations and communities in the 21st century.
The program equips graduates with a deep, theoretically informed understanding of how knowledge and information are created, represented, communicated and used by individuals and groups both online and in the physical world. In addition, students develop the technical and project management skills needed to design, build and manage online information resources such as websites and digital repositories. Students gain an understanding of contemporary issues, trends, innovations and forces for change in information practice; ethical practice; and the ability to operate with integrity, rigour, self-reliance and cooperation in professional contexts.
Course aims
Graduates of the program have:
demonstrated sophisticated information handling skills appropriate for professional practice in diverse environments
an understanding of how to achieve organisational objectives by creating, sharing and using knowledge
an understanding of contemporary issues, trends, innovations and forces for change in information and knowledge practices, as well as the broader political, policy and technological contexts
an understanding of ethical practice and the ability to operate with integrity, rigour, self-reliance and cooperation in professional contexts
demonstrated creative, critical, reflective problem-solving capabilities in the context of their professional roles and a commitment to lifelong learning, and
demonstrated capabilities in planning and implementing a project.

Career options include corporate information manager, database designer, electronic information systems manager, information content developer, information designer, knowledge manager, librarian, media researcher, network manager, research officer and records manager.

For admission into most postgraduate courses, you are required to hold a recognized bachelor's degree equivalent to an Australian bachelor's degree. Your academic performance at the bachelor's level will be considered as part of your application assessment. In some instances, you may also require relevant work experience and/or research experience. English language requirements: IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall, writing 6.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) - 79-93 overall, writing 21; PTE (Academic) - 58-64; CAE - 176-184; AE5/AE6 (PASS) - AE5.

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants who have not completed a bachelor's, master's, graduate diploma or a graduate certificate in any field of study (or overseas equivalent) must provide:
a personal statement (approximately 500 words) explaining why they wish to study the course they are applying for
a curriculum vitae (CV), which should include details of paid and voluntary work or other experiences (eg special interest groups) that could be relevant to the course.
If applicants do not submit these documents, their application may not be considered.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 176-184.
