Overview
The best policy makers are those who use their knowledge to develop innovative solutions to the myriad of challenges facing contemporary society. They are adept at identifying and analysing problems, and steering policy ideas through a complex political environment, in order to serve the public interest.
This course will develop your understanding of policy formulation, implementation and evaluation. As a graduate, you'll possess a deep knowledge of how political processes inform and shape policy development, as well as the skills to help you to analyse, design and deliver effective policy solutions.
KEY FEATURES
This course emphasises the politics surrounding public policy, and analyses the policy process from a political perspective.
You'll focus on policy making within the Australian context, and you'll have opportunities to compare and learn from experiences in other countries around the world.
You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of current debates in public policy, including evidence-based policy, accountability, federal-state relations, globalisation, policy transfer, political parties and citizen engagement.
Current students and graduates include members of parliament, ministerial staff, policy advisers, public servants, advocates and government relations experts.
This course is offered internally and externally, and external students enjoy the benefits of working with staff and fellow students at intensive on-campus sessions each semester.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution. They should be able to demonstrate research experience in their previous studies. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (paper based) score of 570; Pearson test of English (PTE) academic general score of 64; Cambridge English: advanced (CAE) general score of 58; Occupational English test (OET) score of Grade B or above.

• Australian level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent in politics, international relations, law, sociology, media, communications, history, cultural studies, or a related discipline
• GPA of 4.50 (out of 7.00)
• Relevant work experience
The entry requirements to commence this program is a bachelor degree from a recognised university with a major in politics, economics or one of the social sciences and/or appropriate work experience.
IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent; TOEFL iBT 83; PTE Academic 58; CAE 180; CPE 180; OET B.
