Overview
Clinical psychologists are experts in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychological and mental health issues across the lifespan. They are most often involved in the design and implementation of treatment strategies in settings such as primary care, psychiatric hospitals, community based mental health services and private practice, but also may be involved in research and teaching.
This course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and training you'll need to practice as a qualified clinical psychologist. As a graduate, you'll be an expert in the delivery of a range of psychological therapies, and have additional skills to also engage in pursuits such as consultation, public policy, forensic testimony, and program development and administration.
KEY FEATURES
This course will provide you with the qualifications you need to work within a range of clinically oriented areas.
You'll undertake a wide range of units in psychopathology, cognitive behaviour therapy and psychological assessment.
Supervised practical placements are embedded in this course so you're able to build connections between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
You'll have the opportunity to train alongside renowned clinicians and researchers within the state-of-the-art Macquarie University Psychology Clinic and other research and training facilities including the Centre for Emotional Health Clinic, as well as in other organisations in Sydney, regional New South Wales and interstate.
ACCREDITATION
The degree is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and approved by the College of Clinical Psychologists. Completion of the Master of Clinical Psychology leads to registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and endorsement as a clinical psychologist in Australia.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution. They should be able to demonstrate research experience in their previous studies. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (paper based) score of 570; Pearson test of English (PTE) academic general score of 64; Cambridge English: advanced (CAE) general score of 58; Occupational English test (OET) score of Grade B or above.
