Overview
Chiropractors have the unique privilege of being able to positively impact people's lives through the provision of natural and non-invasive healthcare methods. They have a deep understanding of the body's structures and how each interact to affect our health. Using spinal adjustments, manipulation and other physical means to improve neuromusculoskeletal function, chiropractors can help us live healthy and active lives.
This rigorous course will prepare you for a rewarding career in one of the largest primary health professions. As a graduate, you'll be equipped with the full diagnostic and clinical management knowledge and skills you need to work in private practice, chiropractic sports medicine, allied health areas, health insurance assessment, medico-legal advising, work health and safety, rehabilitation and research. Successful completion of this course ensures you're eligible for registration in both Australia and New Zealand. You can undertake additional examinations to practice in other countries.
You'll undertake a year-long internship at one of Macquarie's chiropractic clinics.
You'll learn how to run a practice, operate X-ray equipment and practice spinal manipulation.

This program is fully accredited by Australian Chiropractic accrediting agencies and is recognised internationally.
SUITABLE FOR
Students who want to practise as professional chiropractors, either in Australia or overseas. Prospective students who have a disability which could interfere with either observational or physical skills should contact the department for advice regarding suitability for this field of study. In line with legal requirements, all students in their final year are required to provide a current Working with Children check, First Aid Certificate and National Criminal Record Check in order to participate in the Clinic Internship Units.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution. They should be able to demonstrate research experience in their previous studies. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (paper based) score of 570; Pearson test of English (PTE) academic general score of 64; Cambridge English: advanced (CAE) general score of 58; Occupational English test (OET) score of Grade B or above.

• Australian level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent in a relevant discipline with substantial study in anatomy and physiology with a GPA of 4.00 (out of 7.00); or Macquarie University Bachelor of Chiropractic Science; or Macquarie University Graduate Diploma of Chiropractic Science
IELTS of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent; TOEFL iBT 83; PTE Academic 58; CAE 180; CPE 180; OET B.
