Overview In an increasingly borderless world, the demand for medical professionals who are able to adapt and thrive professionally in culturally diverse settings has never been greater. This four-year postgraduate program integrates applied medical sciences with clinical sciences, professionalism and research, with a strong focus on the development of cultural responsiveness. You’ll study in MQ Health, Australia’s first university-led, integrated health campus, where learning is fully integrated with outstanding patient-centred clinical care, and active health and medical research. To further support your journey to becoming a culturally responsive and globally aware medical professional, structured international clinical experiences are embedded throughout the program, giving you the opportunity to experience different health systems, cultures and clinical presentations. KEY FEATURES Clinical learning begins from day one, as you’ll study within the unique environment of MQ Health where clinical practice, research and learning intersect. You’ll study applied medical sciences, integrating key science disciplines and clinical practice, and begin to develop your clinical and consultation skills within state-of-the-art simulation facilities. You’ll also co-learn with Doctor of Physiotherapy students, focusing on the social aspects of health, evidence-based practice, Indigenous health and professionalism. You’ll be introduced to real clinical experiences within MQ Health through weekly cases and scenarios while developing key research skills and studying patient safety and quality, within the context of critical care. You’ll undertake structured global clinical learning experiences that expose you to different health systems. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete a number of selective clinical placements, adding depth and breadth to your clinical training. You’ll receive a quality assured international education that recognises the value of study abroad for learners, society and healthcare systems. The Macquarie MD is accredited by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) and approved by the Medical Board of Australia (MBA).
