Overview The Diploma of Engineering provides an introduction to general engineering studies, with students gaining theoretical and practical knowledge in key engineering and related areas such as electrical, mechanical and software engineering, computing, mathematics and physics. Students who succeed in the program can choose from a number of undergraduate degrees offered by the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and progress directly into the second year of the degree. Teaching and learning activities focus on assisting students to acquire academic knowledge and also the study skills needed to succeed in higher education in Australia. English language skills are integrated into the academic subjects to assist students to increase their confidence and competence. SUITABLE FOR The course is for students who have completed Year 12 and are close to meeting the academic and English language requirements for direct entry into a Macquarie undergraduate degree.
