The Master of Engineering (Telecommunications) provides graduate Engineers with discipline specific knowledge and technical skills in advanced telecommunications engineering. You will learn technological and competitive skills needed in designing and engineering innovative modern telecommunications systems and networks. You will gain an understanding of the principles of telecommunications engineering, including the planning and management of telecommunications networks. You will acquire mathematical and computational skills necessary to solve technical and theoretical problems. This degree The Master of Engineering delivers expert skills and applied competencies required for the professional engineer. It is designed to train and enhance professional practice, advance technical and specialist skills, and provide an opportunity to put theory into practice with applied projects and research. The degree also delivers communication, strategic and project management skills essential to the practising engineer. What you will study You will complete the core subjects in Advanced Laboratory and Project, Communications and ICT Workplace Practice, Engineering Design and Management and Research Methods. For the Telecommunications major you will study subjects in Advanced Signals and Systems, Identification and Optimal Control, Mobile Networks, plus an additional three subjects selected from the electives from Electrical, Computer, Mechanical or Engineering subjects. Course Learning Outcomes Students graduating from the Master of Engineering will be able to: Research and synthesise key information, and apply expert judgement in engineering design and project planning. Interpret information and communication knowledge, ideas and procedures to both expert and non-expert audiences. Employ independent learning strategies to update own knowledge in the field and keep pace with innovations in engineering techniques, industry trends and standards. Course Structure Students in the Master of Engineering must complete the requirements of one of the following specialisations, to a total of 96 credit points: Asset Management Management Civil Engineering Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Environmental Engineering Innovative Manufacturing Materials Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronic Engineering Mining Engineering Telecommunications Engineering

入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 An Honours Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline at Class II Division 2 or higher or appropriate Master of Philosophy with a strong thesis performance. Special Admission Requirements: All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should: commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work; contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focused research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course; and conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.5 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 6.0); TOEFL – 88 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 18). 国际学生入学条件 Students must have a recognised 4-year Bachelor of Engineering degree with an equivalent average mark of 60 percent.
