Sustainable development is about forms of progress that bring quality of life for all, without endangering the natural resource base on which all of life ultimately depends. In this course you will receive a thorough grounding in the skills and methodologies you need to become a sustainability leader – the ability to analyse sustainability issues and to plan, evaluate and manage an organisation’s environmental, social and economic performance in a rapidly changing world. You’ll undertake four core units, eight specialisation units of your choice, and two dissertation units. The course is focused on industrial ecology principles and tools and provides a holistic perspective on sustainability management from product design and manufacturing to environmental impact assessment, accountability reporting and corporate stewardship. You’ll understand sustainability issues from a global perspective, find out how critical sustainability practices are to future generations, and develop the skills necessary to help achieve a more energy and resource efficient world.
