The Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology will allow you to upgrade your undergraduate exercise science qualifications so that you can work with individuals with disease and injury in the broader community. Clinical exercise physiology is an area of allied health that is specifically concerned with using exercise to restore good health and physical capability to people after illness or injury, or to improve the quality of life and manage physical function in people with chronic disease and physical disabilities. The Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology includes advanced clinical training for work as an exercise physiologist. As part of the course you will undertake 360 hours of clinical workplace experience. This will ensure that you will be work-ready for industry practice in both public and private facilities with a clinical focus. There is a forecasted growth of 19.9% within Medical and Health Care Services and with this brings increased employment opportunities and career options. Health care has been the primary provider of new jobs within Australia and is projected to make the largest contribution to employment growth from 2015 to 2019. (Source: Employment Projections) What you study In the first year of the program you will complete studies in clinical exercise physiology and advanced workplace injury management for exercise physiologists, with particular emphasis on evidence-based case study management, clinical skills development, communication and professionalism. In the second year you can choose four subjects from: Accounting and Financial Management Organisational Behaviour and Management Principles of Marketing Management Social Marketing Economics for Professionals Ergonomics Essentials WHS Risk Management Social Marketing Principles and Practice Course Learning Outcomes Students graduating from the Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology will be able to: Exercise critical thinking and judgement about recent developments in clinical exercise physiology and appreciate concepts and perspectives associated with professional practice as an accredited exercise physiologist. Apply extensive knowledge of research principles and methods pertinent to allied health and professional practice in particular related to the practice of clinical exercise physiology. Investigate, analyse and synthesise information, problems, concepts and theories. Justify and demonstrate the application of a range of clinical competencies in professional practice and further learning. Apply and integrate extensive knowledge and skills to assist in the planning and execution of clinical practicum exercise interventions. Demonstrate general knowledge and skills in the broader context of exercise physiology as it pertains to business principles, the work health and safety sector and/or public health and policy Demonstrate evidence of outcomes related to Discipline Threshold Learning Outcomes and/or Professional Accreditation Requirements with respect to pathological conditions and special populations Including: Exercise assessment, prescription and delivery. Analysis and modification of movement Understanding physiological systems integration and pathophysiology Analysis and interpretation of statistics and research methodology Design, apply, generate and evaluate theories, methodologies and concepts for professional practice or scholarship. Demonstrate advanced skills in critical thinking, reasoning and reflection. Justify, interpret and communicate propositions, methodologies, conclusions and professional decisions.

入学要求

为来自中国的学生设计 An Honours Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline at Class II Division 2 or higher or appropriate Master of Philosophy with a strong thesis performance. Special Admission Requirements: All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should: commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work; contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focused research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course; and conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.5 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 6.0); TOEFL – 88 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 18). 国际学生入学条件 A recognised Bachelor degree in Exercise Science of at least three years' duration, or have ESSA approved Graduate Entry status. Applicants must also have acquired a minimum of 140 hours of supervised clinical placement with healthy populations prior to entry into the Masters. IELTS Academic Overall Score of 6.5, reading 6.0, writing 6.0, listening 6.0, speaking 6.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 88, reading 18, writing 18, listening 18, speaking 18; Cambridge English: CAE and CPE score of 176; PTE Academic overall score of 64 (Minimum communicative skill score of 57).
