The Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance is an introductory course designed to provide a general understanding of areas in Applied Finance such as financial statement analysis, managerial finance, statistics and corporate governance.
Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance provides a pathway to the Master of Applied Finance and gives graduates a four-subject credit towards the Masters degree.
We value the importance of prior learning and work experience in this course and understand that not all mature age working professionals have completed an undergraduate degree. If you fit this profile, still apply for the course, we will assess your other relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial relevant professional or managerial experience.

Course Learning Outcomes
Students graduating from the Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance will be able to:
Demonstrate technical, theoretical and industry knowledge of local and international finance.
Critically apply technical, theoretical and industry knowledge and skills to propose solutions to routine and/ or emerging problems in finance.
Exercise judgement to analyse problems in diverse contexts using economic, finance and institutional perspectives.
Communicate in oral and written forms with relevant stakeholders.
Collaborate with others in order to achieve outputs relevant to finance.

An Honours Bachelor degree in an appropriate discipline at Class II Division 2 or higher or appropriate Master of Philosophy with a strong thesis performance. Special Admission Requirements: All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should: commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work; contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focused research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course; and conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.5 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 6.0); TOEFL – 88 (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking – 18).

A recognised Bachelor degree or a tertiary academic qualification with duration of at least 3 years’ full-time equivalent. Applicants with 5 years’ full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience in Finance will also be considered.
IELTS Academic Overall Score of 6.0, reading 6.0, writing 6.0, listening 5.0, speaking 5.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 79, reading 18, writing 18, listening 16, speaking 16; Cambridge English: CAE and CPE score of 169; PTE Academic overall score of 57 (Reading and Writing 57, Speaking and Listening 50).
