Studying engineering and arts will teach you to create solutions for everyday life, from the large scale to the nano-level. You will gain knowledge in many traditional areas of study including history, literature, languages and philosophy and the disciplines of social sciences; cultural studies, sociology and politics. Engineering is vital to solving the world’s big challenges: supporting communities by designing and building livable sustainable cities; creating transport and housing systems; and designing and building telecommunications networks, the internet and computers. Engineers design systems to ensure ample clean water for the world’s population, to find non-polluting energy sources, to create ways to assist healthy living and ageing, and to advance medical and health technologies. Engineers are team players and many become CEO’s and entrepreneurs; engineering graduates run over 30 percent of the world’s biggest international companies, nearly double the next largest discipline. Learn the fundamentals of engineering, both the technical and interpersonal skills, and apply your knowledge in real situations to prepare you for engineering the future with an internationally accredited UOW engineering degree. This degree The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) ' Bachelor of Arts combines professional engineering skills, including management, teamwork and problem solving, with the critical and creative thinking skills learned from studying the arts and humanities. It will teach you a diverse skill set required for high achievement in a range of careers. What you will study You will choose one major in the Bachelor of Arts degree: Cultural Studies, English Literatures, French, History, Indigenous Studies, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin (Non-Chinese Background Students), Mandarin (Character Background Students), Philosophy, Photography, Politics, Science and Technology Studies, Sociology, Spanish, or Writing and English Literatures, as well as a minor from the Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts. You will also choose one major from the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours): Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Materials, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mining or Telecommunications. Course Learning Outcomes A number of the course learning outcomes in each of these degrees complement and consolidate outcomes in the partner degree. Applied across two discipline areas, the outcomes are achieved at a broader and more comprehensive level. The outcomes, which are common and consolidated in this joint degree, ensure that on successful completion of the course students will be able to: Evaluate complex issues and ideas and exercise critical judgement. Apply disciplinary knowledge in a variety of real-world professional contexts. Communicate concepts effectively to a range of audiences. Show respect for the views, values and culture of others in settings involving colleagues, clients, communities and end users, and consider alternate perspectives in the chosen discipline. 为来自中国的学生设计 UOW recognizes secondary qualifications from more than 40 countries and education systems, including GCE A levels, International Baccalaureate and SAT, and can assess students who have completed the equivalent of Australian high school (Year 12) for direct entry to the first year of a Bachelor degree. English language requirements: IELTS - 6.0; TOEFL - 79, Pearson PTE - 57. 国际学生入学条件 Applicants need to have achieved the required score in a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia. In order to succeed in your chosen course, it is assumed you have completed relevant subjects in your senior high school studies or other relevant qualifications. This is particularly important for degrees which have a strong basis in Mathematics or Science. English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic Overall Score of 6.0, reading 6.0, writing 6.0, listening 5.0, speaking 5.0; TOEFL (Internet-based) score of 79, reading 18, writing 18, listening 16, speaking 16; Cambridge English: CAE and CPE score of 169; PTE Academic overall score of 57 (Reading and Writing 57, Speaking and Listening 50).
