The Child and Adolescent Health Nursing Major is designed to provide the theoretical foundations of nursing science, together with the clinical knowledge and skills associated with the student's specialty practice. A significant component of the major may be conducted in a health care institution. It focuses on the development of clinical leadership, promotion and integration of evidence-based nursing practice to foster the development of graduates consistent with the profile of the nurse specialist, offering the advanced-level nurse further clinical skills and an opportunity to extend career options. Professional recognition Eligible registered nurses may be able to use successful completion of this major as evidence for professional recognition, for example by the Western Australian Department of Health (Certificate Allowance). Graduates will be eligible to apply for the above positions. There is no accreditation for these positions.
