The Master of Education (Wellbeing and Positive Mental Health) is a 72-unit program offered by the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Law is available in internal and distance modes. This specialisation aims to: provide students with the opportunity to examine research principles and methods and to apply those principles and methods in the evaluation and design of research into current educational issues related to wellbeing and positive mental health combine the study of research design and methods, evaluation and assessment with a principal focus on key contemporary educational policy issues enable graduates to use quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method research designs in educational policy research and program evaluation. Learning outcomes It is expected that graduates from this specialisation will be able to: critically discuss and evaluate current theory and research in wellbeing and positive mental health educational policies and practices examine recent writing in wellbeing and positive mental health education from an informed critical perspective understand the traditions that inform contemporary research design translate knowledge gained from reading, discussion and writing into research practice generate research proposals for the investigation of current educational issues, demonstrating the application of research principles and methods contribute to the informed construction of educational policy, whether local, national or global examine research principles and methods and apply those principles and methods in the evaluation and design, and conduct of research into current educational issues. Program of study To qualify for the Master of Education (Wellbeing and Positive Mental Health), a student must complete 54 units, including approved credit, with a grade of P or NGP or better.
