The Fine Art major is designed for those who wish to become professional artists or pursue a range of careers in the growing creative industries. You will focus on a variety of disciplines, including painting, print media, sculpture, drawing, installation and new media. Within the first and second year of the Fine Art major, you will engage in a range of staff-directed studio-based activities, leading you to develop self directed projects within the third year of the course. At the completion of your final year, all fine art students participate in the annual Fine Art Degree Show exhibition, provide an opportunity to network with key gallery contacts, potential buyers, the media and other artists. Visiting artists, curators and theorists also contribute to the teaching program through guest lectures and residencies and our established Artist in Residence program brings artists of international reputation to work on campus. Fine art is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. You can enhance your studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support your career goals.
