专业简介
The Master of Statistics program is the longest running program of its kind in Australia. It covers a wide range of statistical theory and practice and provides advanced training for those who are currently, or are aiming to become, practicing statisticians. In addition, the program will provide a means of obtaining the necessary preparation for further research in Statistics.
Program Structure
Students must complete 72 UOC as a standalone program.
The program consists of 72 UOC comprised of:
1. 12 UOC of compulsory Core Coursework Courses
2. 48 UOC of Electives chosen from the School of Mathematics and Statistics
3. 12 UOC of a supervised Research Project
Learning Outcomes
Graduates will have developed an understanding of enquiry-based learning and demonstrate analytical skills as they relate to statistics.
Graduates will be able to communicate effectively to a range of audiences in both the written and oral forms, and be capable of independent and collaborative enquiry and working effectively with others.
Graduates will have developed advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills in statistics.
Graduates will have acquired advanced disciplinary knowledge and skills in statistics, and an ability to apply these in a range of contexts.

The entry requirement for the Master of Statistics is one of the following:
A Bachelor of Mathematics or Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics or statistics; and
Have sufficient mathematical and/or statistical background, as indicated by a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 or above in level III mathematics and/or statistics university courses.

UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest)
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest)
