The Master of Fine Arts research degree is designed for students who want to undertake supervised research and investigation into an approved area of Fine Arts or Media Arts including experimental arts, emerging technologies, creative robotics, digital imaging, interactive and immersive media, creative robotics, sound, drawing, painting, printmaking, performance, video, photo-media, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, installation, video, ceramics, jewellery or textiles.
The Master of Fine Arts (Research) program enables students of proven ability to engage in the sustained investigation at an
advanced level of an area of interest or concern in their visual arts practice.

As a UNSW Art & Design student, you will be encouraged to explore the world outside the studio, lab and classroom at every opportunity. Whether it's exhibiting in campus galleries, gaining invaluable experience in professional practice, undertaking a placement in an outback Indigenous community, or global brand or company. Through our nationally and internationally recognised Professional Experience Program (PEP) which is embedded into our Design, Media Arts and Fine Art degree programs, we ensure you learn through hands-on experience in professional workplace environments and through regular industry engagement which is integrated throughout our degrees.

English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); TOEFL - Paper-based Test (PBT) 577 overall (min. 5.0 in TWE); Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) - 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest; Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) - 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest).
国际学生入学条件
The minimum requirement for admission to a Masters by Research is:
an appropriate four year Bachelor's degree with Honours from the University of New South Wales, or
a qualification from another tertiary institution considered equivalent by Faculty Research Committee or Higher Degree Committee (HDC).
In exceptional circumstances, an applicant who the HDC consider to hold academic and professional qualifications equivalent to the required qualifications may be permitted to enrol in the degree.

UNSW Institute of Languages University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE): 176 overall (min.169 in each subtest)
Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): 180 overall (min.180 in each subtest)
