The Master of Commerce program has a long and distinguished history in providing high quality, relevant business education. If you are a non-business graduate wanting to develop your skills and knowledge in business, or if you are a business graduate who would like to broaden your business knowledge, then this program allows you to specialise, choosing from a range of disciplines, to pursue your career ambitions.

This specialisation has been specially developed to enable students to achieve recognition from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). In the Master of Commerce students can cover the Operational level and the Management level of CIMA's syllabus. In the Master of Commerce (Extension) an additional level (the Strategic) can be covered
The Management Accounting specialisation in the Master of Commerce will provide you with a solid education in relevant core and specialised areas of knowledge and practice. You will develop a core set of high-level skills and satisfy the first two levels of CIMA's syllabus covering 6 examination papers (Enterprise Operations E1, Performance Operations P1, Financial Operations F1, Enterprise Management E2, Performance Management P2, and Financial Management F2).
The longer version of the Management Accounting specialisation in the Master of Commerce (Extension) allows you to go further and satisfy the requirements for the third level (E3 Strategic Management, P3 Risk Management and F3 Financial Strategy). Upon the successful completion of all subject areas and with relevant work experience, you can become a CIMA Member and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Career opportunities are in accounting and financial management in the private and public sectors; working for organisations or government departments. Career progression after the appropriate experience would be: Management Accountant, Finance Manager, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Director, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or Management Consultant.
This specialisation is for business and non-business graduates who wish to pursue a career in the exciting area of management accounting and be professionally recognised by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
