专业简介
The Master of Arts by Research degree program involves the completion of a thesis proposal and a research thesis. It is designed for students wishing to engage in serious research but not able to devote the three years required to complete a PhD or with a research project which does not lend itself to that level of extended treatment.
Both national and international in its focus, English and Literary Studies at UNSW adopts a wide range of critical and theoretical approaches to understand texts from different cultural contexts and historical periods from the Renaissance through to the present moment. Higher degree research students in English and Literary Studies undertake original research that seeks to intervene in and influence major disciplinary debates about national identity, place, culture, narrative and aesthetic achievement.

Clear indication of potential to undertake research is required, either through a relevant Honours degree or through a period of professional work following a relevant undergraduate degree.
