The Graduate Certificate in Economics is offered as an on-campus program. Students are required to complete 4 courses (24 Units of Credit) comprised of one course each from 3 core areas and one elective course. All courses are 6 Units of Credit. Program Structure Students must complete 24 UOC as a standalone program. Learning Outcomes Knowledge. On completion, students will demonstrate knowledge of advanced theories and modern tools used in economics; quantitative and econometric tools used in economics. Critical thinking. On completion, students will demonstrate the following: the cognitive skills and capacity to analyse economic problems using advanced economic tools; the ability to synthesize mathematical economic analysis and provide economic intuition for the results; the capacity to use econometric estimation techniques to analyse empirical problems. Communication. On completion, students will demonstrate the following: communication skills in delivering knowledge and ideas.

Entrance to the program also requires that applicants should: have achieved an average of 65% or higher in the last two years of economics and quantitative methods courses in their bachelor degree; and satisfy the University's English Language requirement. Applicants without an adequate background may be required to undertake some preliminary coursework in intermediate microeconomics, macroeconomics as well as econometrics.
