Clinical scientists play a critical role in helping to save lives and contribute to the health of our communities. They combine the latest research and investigation and analysis technologies to isolate the cause of disease and develop treatments, as well as examining social and community factors contributing to health.
Course highlights
CSU's Bachelor of Clinical Science combines a broad education in the different branches of biomedical science with knowledge of social sciences. During your clinical science studies you will develop the skills to independently derive evidence-based decisions that will inform health and medical practitioners to deliver the best possible care to patients.

As part of CSU's School of Biomedical Sciences, Bachelor of Clinical Science students benefit from the expertise of industry-connected staff and problem-based learning. Research programs are diverse, providing an exciting environment for graduate studies – where you are exposed to cutting-edge research in a range of disciplines. You will have the opportunity to engage in high quality learning experiences in the areas of clinical practice (paramedic), clinical science, health science and medical science.
Choose your own path
A clinical science degree with CSU gives you the flexibility to transfer to undergraduate or graduate-level health or allied health programs such as medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, pharmacy, midwifery, paramedicine and radiology, subject to university entry requirements. Extracurricular activities are also offered to prepare you for the Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test, UMAT, or the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test, GAMSAT.
More than science
CSU's medical science course equips you with skills and knowledge relating to rural and remote clinical practice, as well as standard practice including an understanding of the factors affecting the health of rural and remote communities. Throughout the course, you will develop and hone your interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills which will provide the foundation you need for employment in numerous public health and research areas.

This course is a pathway to further study in areas such as medicine, dentistry and physiotherapy. If you meet specific requirements, you may be eligible to apply for one of five reserved places for interview for Notre Dame’s School of Medicine in your final year of study. You could also have the opportunity to apply for one of seven reserved places at interview for dentistry at CSU.

Applicants must have completion of the first year of a recognised university bachelor degree; Completion on the National College Entrance Examination Gaokao with a minimum score of 60% of the total maximum Gaokao score for the province; Completion of the China Senior High School Middle Year 3 Gaosan with an average of 80% across the top four academic subjects. English Language requirements: an Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall score of at least 6.0 with no score below 5.5; a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) internet based score of 80 and writing score of 25; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic score of 54 with a minimum of 46 in all communicative skills.
