Our innovative teaching programs include 80 days supervised professional experience in at least three different education settings. Combine a teaching qualification with a commerce degree The Bachelor of Commerce/Education (Secondary) is a dual degree program for students interested in secondary teaching in Business Studies and Economics. After completing this undergraduate program you will have a professional teaching qualification as well as a commerce degree from the UNSW Business School. The Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Education is a four-year double degree for students interested in teaching Business Studies and Economics. This combined education degree is jointly delivered by UNSW Arts & Social Sciences and UNSW Business School. As a Commerce and Education student, you will complete a selection of core and elective courses and develop teaching specialisations in Business Studies and Economics: a major sequence in Education including core courses, electives and placements compulsory and flexible core courses in Commerce commerce major from your choice of: Business Economics Financial Economics Business Strategy and Economic Management Careers The Education program at UNSW prepares graduates to pursue a career in secondary school teaching in New South Wales, Australia and overseas. Other career options include policy development and leadership within schools or supervisory, corporate training, customer relations and managerial roles in a variety of industries. Key classroom skills Our teaching programs are practical and prepare you for a career as a professional educator. We place great importance on: enhancing your communication skills to ensure effective communication with your students the practice of reflective teaching continual improvement of your professional knowledge and practice effective unit and lesson planning, and assessment and reporting design Honours Education students who meet the academic requirements may elect to undertake an Honours program in either their fourth or fifth year of study. The Honours program may be undertaken in either Education or your teaching discipline.
