Our MDRes programme provides excellent training, giving students comprehensive opportunities in fundamental and translational research of childhood health and disease. The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (UCL GOS ICH) is a world-class Institute, producing highly employable graduates, with an ambitious and resilient outlook and experience in core research skills, collaboration and networking. UCL GOS ICH pursues an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to the understanding, diagnosis, therapy and prevention of childhood diseases. Our research and our educational portfolios cover a broad range of paediatric issues, from molecular genetics to population health sciences, facilitating interdisciplinary work and allowing the flexibility for the development of new areas of investigation. Our close relationship with the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) means that much of our research and teaching is carried out jointly and is translationally relevant. Students benefit from excellent facilities in both laboratory and non-laboratory subjects. The MDRes provides a basis for clinical graduates to complete their clinical and/or research training, and many progress on to successful academic clinical careers.
