专业简介
Financial Economics focuses on key macroeconomic and microeconomic forces which shape and influence financial markets and are fundamental to financial decision making. It draws on the most recent developments in these areas such as the functioning of financial markets and monetary policy. In this course you will learn how macroeconomic fundamentals influence asset prices and how optimal decisions are made in terms of price setting, market structure, and inequality and portfolio choice.
On completion of this course as a graduate you will be qualified to work as a policy analyst for organisations such as the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Within these institutions you will be applying your skills to monitor country developments and provide economic intelligence to senior management. Recent graduates have been employed by companies including KPMG, Pricewaterhouse Coopers and Standard Charted Bank. We have a dedicated careers and employability team who provide 1-2-1 support and advice, group workshops, employer events on campus and networking opportunities throughout the year to help you with your career prospects. This course is also accredited by AACSB and EQUIS.

Graduates of national quality Chinese universities with a GPA of 3.2 or above or an average score of 80% and above will be considered. Grades in relevant subjects will be accorded greater significance and entry will be entirely at the discretion of the University of Glasgow. We can accept top-up honours degrees with the final year at a UK or other university but we normally require 60% or equivalent (2.1) standard in all courses in the final year of the degree.
