This programme is designed to deepen your understanding of education so that you can critically analyse education practice, provisions and policy in your own current or future professional context. They support you in interrogating research literature and in undertaking educational research in your own areas of study. This programme is for people who are interested in entering the academic field of education. You will study alongside people from a range of backgrounds and stages of educationally focused careers. The programme offers an opportunity for the advanced study of education within a broad framework of courses. The scope is broad, representing important and influential educational ideas from a range of disciplines. On completion the programme will support your career development as a class teacher, lecturer, policy developer, special education professional, head teacher, education administrator or researcher.

Graduates of national quality Chinese universities with a GPA of 3.2 or above or an average score of 80% and above will be considered. Grades in relevant subjects will be accorded greater significance and entry will be entirely at the discretion of the University of Glasgow. We can accept top-up honours degrees with the final year at a UK or other university but we normally require 60% or equivalent (2.1) standard in all courses in the final year of the degree.

Students whose first language is not English need to have IELTS Academic: overall score 6.5; no sub-test less than 6.0 or equivalent scores in another recognised qualification; TOEFL- iBT: 90 (Reading: 20, Listening: 19, Speaking: 19, Writing: 23).
