Postgraduate certificates provide the opportunity for continuing professional development in the same area as an original degree. Postgraduate certificates are available to graduates who wish to build on an earlier degree, and who have appropriate practical, professional or scholarly experience. Waikato University offers specialist postgraduate certificates as well as postgraduate certificates. The Postgraduate Certificate comprises a minimum of 60 points at 500 level or above. Leadership Communication Research shows the best leaders and managers are outstanding communicators, enabling them to go further and faster in their careers. At Waikato University, we'll teach you how to communicate more effectively in the workplace and how to influence key stakeholders, helping organisations to make strategic changes. Excellent communication skills are a powerful tool of leadership in all organisations, from small businesses to large government departments. Leaders who possess superb written and verbal communication skills; and who can manage teams of individuals to perform at their best; play an important role in an organisation's success. These skills are equally essential for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in public relations, marketing or climb the ranks of management. In this subject you'll explore the theory and practice of communication, such as writing business reports or giving professional speeches, and learn how to engage, motivate and influence people. You'll also gain an understanding of managing conflict, persuasion and negotiation, and helping organisations to implement strategic changes. We'll inspire and challenge you throughout the course using a mixture of lectures, tutorials, group reports, self-reflective writing and team presentations. If you have good listening skills, wish to become a confident communicator and aspire to become a great leader, then this subject may be a good fit for you. English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic) - 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing); iBT (internet based) TOEFL - 90 with a score of 22 in writing; Pearson PTE Academic - 65 with no less than 58 for each communicative skill; Waikato Pathways - Successful completion of Level 8 with a B grade average in the Certificate of Attainment in Academic (CAAE) Programme. 国际学生入学条件 A recognised bachelor’s degree with a B/B+ grade average. You must also have a major in the relevant subject area with a B/B+ grade average.
