专业简介
Waikato's new three-year Bachelor of Business will prepare you to lead people and manage a successful company or not-for-profit enterprise across a wide range of industries. You'll also gain the know-how to start your own small business.
This degree will equip you with well-rounded business and financial acumen that today's employers are looking for, across all the key areas of management: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, strategy, supply chain management, digital business, data analytics, and much more.
You'll also develop core skills in decision-making, analysis, innovation, teamwork, leadership and communication that will stand you in good stead throughout your career.
As a BBus student, you'll gain valuable insights into why companies need to be agile and innovative in today's unpredictable global marketplace. You'll learn how to make a company's operations more efficient and profitable, satisfy the needs of your customers, and what's involved in managing international supply chains.
Discover the entrepreneurial process of creating new products, and be introduced to the latest digital technologies – such as big data and cloud computing – that are revolutionising business and society.
In third year, you'll have the opportunity to gain practical management experience working for a local or international organisation, and apply everything you've learned so far to a real business situation.
Human Resource Management
Gain the essential skills to recruit, develop and manage an organisation's most valuable asset - its people.
Studying Human Resource Management at Waikato turns you into a strategic player who knows how to position employees for the long-term success of a company.
A career in human resources is all about selecting the right people for the right jobs; then knowing how to train, develop and motivate staff to improve their individual performance. It means you'll be involved in all areas of staff recruitment, salaries, employee benefits, training programmes, managerial behaviour and staff productivity.
We'll teach you how to achieve the best results from employees through practical workshops, where you'll apply human resource management practices to address real situations in the workplace.
You’ll also learn about employment relations laws, health and safety, work-life balance, organisational culture, and managing conflict, negotiation and diversity in the workplace.
In the paper HRMG242/342, you'll take part in workshops designed to apply human resource management practices to real situations in the workplace, such as carrying out a health and safety audit of an organisation to assess whether the building complies with New Zealand legislation.
