If you are seeking to make the transition from a science or mathematics-based career to become an engineer, or if you already have an engineering degree and would like to change paths to a different specialisation, the Master of Professional Engineering offers an accredited qualification that will enable you to practise in Australia and overseas. The electrical specialisation covers designing and building systems that generate, transmit, measure, control and use electrical energy. The degree will also help you develop the sound communication, management and decision-making capabilities necessary to interpret and discuss complex issues in your area of specialisation. The program will provide you with the engineering professional practice and research skills that lead to recognition as an Australian graduate engineer. Your qualifications will be recognised internationally through the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance. Research activities in the faculty focus on a wide range of areas from aerospace, biomedical, combustion, processing and manufacture, design, robotics, electronics, networks, wireless and satellite systems. Students completing a Master of Professional Engineering program with excellent average marks are eligible to undertake supervised research in the degree of Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy. Graduate opportunities Career paths for electrical engineering graduates include developing body area networks, medical imaging scanners, bionic ears and eyes, heart pumps, pacemakers and hearing aids. There are also opportunities to work in computer systems, data and telecommunication networks including the Internet, biomedical instruments and applications, such as, mobile telecommunications and wireless networks, optical and microwave communications, integrated electronic systems, advanced robotics and intelligent machines, image and signal processing systems, generation and transmission of electric power and renewable energy systems, 'smart' systems which monitor and maintain themselves, and high voltage engineering.

为来自中国的学生设计 To apply for a PhD, you need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either: a bachelor's degree with first or upper second class honours or a master's degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of research; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing. 国际学生入学条件 To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have: an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 68.5 percent average, or equivalent qualification or - an Australian bachelor's degree in a non-Engineering discipline with a 68.5 percent average, with studies equivalent to 48 credit points (equivalent to 1 year full time study load) in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, geology, computing or statistics, as related to the stream sought for admission. For qualifications awarded outside Australia, equivalencies and entry requirements are determined based on the country, institution and qualification. Fast-track your master's If you have the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 68.5 percent average in an unrelated specialisation, or a Bachelor of Science of similar (in a related discipline), you may be eligible for a Reduced Volume of Learning (RVL) of up to 24 credit points or .5 years/1 semester. If you have an equivalent of an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree with a 68.5 percent average in a related specialisation, you may be eligible for RVL of up to 48 credit points or 1 year. If you have a postgraduate engineering degree with a 68.5 per cent average in a related specialisation, you may be eligible for RVL of up to 72 credit points or 1.5 years. TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
