The postgraduate program in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) provides a diverse and inter-professional curriculum suitable for Australian and international students interested in the range of disciplines related to HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Globally, the challenges of SRH including HIV/STIs, infertility, and unintended pregnancy continue to be a significant public health issue. Challenges to sexual function and wellbeing also impacts on the health of individuals. Comprehensive prevention and treatment of SRH issues require a thorough understanding of the psycho-social contexts in which they occur as well as the biological and diagnostic aspects of sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing.
This program enables students to address these challenges through a range of units, with an option to choose one of four distinct pathways:
HIV and STIs
Psychosexual Therapy
Reproductive Health and Fertility
Public Health
Future study options
Students who have completed the compulsory research unit and achieved an average of at least 75% in 24 credit points of compulsory and/or stream specific units of study will be eligible to apply for the Master of Medicine (Advanced) (Sexual and Reproductive Health). Opportunities for further study through research degrees are available to students. Key study areas are: HIV and STIs; Psychosexual Therapy and Sexual Wellbeing; Reproductive Health and Fertility. Students who wish to undertake further study may be able to apply for the Master of Philosophy. Students who complete the Masters (Advanced) may be eligible to apply directly to a PhD or a Master of Philosophy.

To apply for a PhD, you need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either: a bachelor's degree with first or upper second class honours or a master's degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of research; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing.

Admission to the Master of Medicine (Sexual and Reproductive Health) requires a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 20 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 22 in Writing.
