Our graduate diplomas provide you with core knowledge in your chosen study area. You will develop specialist skills and knowledge, enhancing your career and enabling you to progress to a master’s qualification. Based on our Master of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations, but requiring fewer units of study, you will develop the skills to respond to the rapid changes reshaping local and international work practices.

The Sydney Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations will prepare to further your career in traditional IR organisations such as unions, employer bodies and government as well as in HRM, research, policy development, consultancy work, industrial law and many aspects of private and public sector management.

The Business School offers two research degrees, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and the Master of Philosophy (MPhil), which may be studied full-time or part-time. To apply for a PhD, you need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either: a bachelor's degree with first or upper second class honours or a master's degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of research; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing.

To be considered for admission, an applicant is required to have:
an Australian bachelor's degree or higher (minimum 60 percent average) or equivalent qualification, or
an Australian bachelor's degree or higher with a pass average (minimum 50 percent)
or equivalent qualification, and satisfactory performance in the GMAT (for guidance, the class average score is 590)
or equivalent Business School approved admissions test or the University of Sydney Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations with a credit average (65 percent).

IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
