The Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication and Culture is a unique degree that offers a flexible program of study in multiple aspects of digital communication and culture, including the latest developments in internet platforms, social media, research tools, digital audiences, mobile media, online governance, cross-media creative and games.
This degree provides a comprehensive platform from which to engage with digital technologies and their cultural contexts. You will gain an understanding of the recent literature on technological change and its cultural contexts.

To apply for a PhD, you need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either: a bachelor's degree with first or upper second class honours or a master's degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of research; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing.

Admission to candidature for the Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication and Culture requires:
a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney or an equivalent qualification or
equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
Upgrade is possible from the Graduate Certificate to a Graduate Diploma or Masters, or from a Graduate Diploma to Masters in the same subject area, after successful completion of the shorter course.
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
