In this course the Centre for History and Philosophy of Science has a vigorous postgraduate research culture. The major fields of PhD recruitment are Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Physics, and History of Science, Technology and Medicine from 17th to 20th Centuries. A significant number of our PhD students work in collaboration with regional museums, including the Thackray Medical Museum and Leeds City Museum, as well as with national bodies such as the National Institute of Agricultural Botany and the British Telecom Archives .

For Postgraduate qualification, students need to have 4 year Bachelor degrees or 1-2 year Masters: for courses requiring 2.1, students should have percentage of 75% (Prestigious), 80% (Non Prestigious), 85% (Independent college), for courses requiring 2.2 needs to have percentage of 70% (Prestigious), 75% (Non Prestigious), 80% (Independent college). The entry requirements are usually referred in terms of standard British qualifications (good honors degree). However, applications from students with equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
