This course engages with the challenges of international development in today’s complex world. You’ll develop skills and knowledge relating to development research and practice. The course includes a 10-day field class currently in Nepal or Kenya providing hands-on experience of research. There are seminars, lectures, workshops and reading groups. You will be assessed on your coursework assignments, project work and a dissertation. The course includes a 10-day field class currently in Galapagos, Nepal and Tanzania, which provides hands-on experience of research.

Students who hold a good bachelor degree from a recognised Chinese university will be considered for direct entry to postgraduate diploma or masters programmes. For entry to MBA students need a good bachelor degree from a recognised Chinese university and at least 3 years´ post-graduation work experience. Students must be at least 25 years old by the time the programme starts.

Students should have overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent and overall score of 88 or above, with at least 17 in Listening, 17 in Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking.
