The year in industry is a one-year extension of the MEng Chemical Engineering degree. With help from our careers and industrial placements team we will help you find and secure your own placement in industry for at least 38 weeks. You'll benefit from experiencing the culture in industry and make valuable contacts. A year in industry will put your academic studies into context; improve your skills and your employability on graduation. The learning and assessment percentages could vary depending on the modules you choose. We turn out fully fledged chemical engineers who can slot straight into industrial teams designing and operating new processes. We have good relationships with global companies - they like the graduates we produce. Our graduates are working for global companies such as BASF, GlaxoSmithKline and Tata Steel, in chemical and allied products, contracting, oil and gas, consultancy, pharmaceuticals, energy, water, food and drink, materials, process plant and equipment.
