The Dalyell Scholars Program replaces the University of Sydney’s Advanced Engineering and offers greater opportunities to excel and new real-world challenges to conquer.
Exclusive to high achieving students (ATAR of 98+), the program is designed to equip you with those highly-valued skills by enriching your learning experience with leadership training, travel opportunities and mentoring from academics and experienced engineers. Through these experiences you’ll develop professional skills such as communication, teamwork and project management, enhancing your employability prospects and embarking you on a promising career in engineering or computing.

Along with career options from your chosen engineering stream, the valuable insights you gain through your studies as a Dalyell Scholar will open up a range of opportunities across the public and private sectors including in business, banking, consulting, entrepreneurship and project management. Our engineering graduates can be found in a broad range of careers and roles, including all branches of engineering such as civil, chemical, mechanical, mechatronic, biomolecular and space. They work in robotics, transport and logistics, agribusiness and renewable energy; in building design, construction, communications, medical device manufacturing and disaster recovery.
Future study options
The faculty provides a link between postgraduate students in the different Engineering and IT disciplines. We offer a welcoming and supportive environment in which to undertake challenging coursework programs and research. Our postgraduate coursework and research is focused on industrial applications supported by strong fundamental research programs run by internationally recognised academics.

English Language Requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6.0; TOEFL Paper based score of 565; TOEFL IBT: 85; PTE Academic score of 61; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): 58; Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): 45; Cambridge English scale: CAE and CPE: 176.

Admission to this course is on the basis of the following criteria:
a secondary education qualification (including national and international equivalents), or approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
English language requirements where these are not demonstrated by sufficient qualifications taught in English.
TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing.
IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
