This course explores the relationships between transport systems, the people who use and operate them, and the wider world. You will study modules covering human factors in transport engineering, and the interactions between transport, energy systems, and the environment. This MSc is appropriate for students interested in a career in the transport industry. The behaviour pathway - differentiated through the compulsory study of transport, energy and the environment, and human factors in engineering - is suitable for graduates from a range of disciplinary backgrounds. Testing is conducted through a combination of unseen written examinations and assessed coursework in the form of problem solving exercises, design exercises, essays, and individual and group projects. Experimental, research and design skills are assessed through laboratory reports, coursework exercises and oral presentations. On completion of this course there are various opportunities such as: Transport planning; Transport management; Transport consultancy; and Environmental consultancy. This course is also accredited by Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) for the Transport Planning Professional qualification.
