This course has been designed to produce the next generation of leaders in cancer research, one of the major research strengths of the University of Southampton. The PhD degree programme provides broad training in the intellectual and practical basis of scientific research as well as a focused individual research experience. The combination of a choice of laboratory rotations and a three year project offers an enhanced student experience to better prepare you for a career in scientific research. You will be provided with a list of research projects from which you can choose which short projects you would like to undertake. During the projects, you will be supervised by at least two supervisors, who will provide you with support and guidance in undertaking research. You will submit a 4500-5000 word report on your project, which will be assessed as part of your MRes degree.
