This is a flexible programme of higher level study that is suitable for both clinicians and non-clinicians from both the UK and the wider international community. Its chief objective is to provide you with the opportunity to gain academic credits tailored to your ambitions and professional expertise and to improve your career options and pathways. This course is for clinicians and non-clinicians to develop both your independent and critical thinking skills and to enable you to constructively question healthcare policy and practice. It will also give you the skills you need to address and find innovative solutions to complex problems in healthcare, meeting the current and future challenges in healthcare. Because the MSc Health Sciences is such a flexible option you may find yourself being assessed in a number of different ways. For example, you may be required under some circumstances to devise a method of assessment alongside your module lead or academic coach. The assessment methods are designed to help you integrate theory and practice, maximise your skills of critical thinking and analysis, and develop your understanding of health sciences. On work based modules you will be assessed in many cases by your practice supervisor. Ultimately, all students will produce a dissertation, which will be assessed by the academic team in the traditional sense.
