Engineering management is fundamental to the production and design of engineered products. Management science features prominently in this four-year degree course for those looking to enter key management positions in the aerospace industry. Students can also take the Industrial Placement Year, providing the opportunity for a year-long placement with an engineering-based organisation. This integrated masters degree programme is designed to enable professional engineers to progress quickly into key management positions in the aerospace industry. On this course, you will develop the technical skills to understand, design and manufacture new products and the expertise to manage processes, people and finances. The first two years are identical to the BEng and MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics. As in the BEng, you will gain a solid foundation in aerospace engineering such as aerodynamics, astronautics and propulsion along with a wider appreciation of the economic, legal and environmental issues associated with aircraft operations and aircraft performance. In the last two years, you will take a combination of engineering technology and management modules. 92% of our students were in professional jobs or further study six months after graduation (DLHE, 2014/15). Recent graduates are employed at organisations including: Dyson, European Space Agency, Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), Jaguar Land Rover, MERCEDES-AMG Petronas Motorsport, and Rolls-Royce.
