This course is designed for those who want a general public international law qualification, which can be tailored towards a particular specialist interest such as environmental protection, international trade, or human rights. The LLM Public International Law allows students to develop an excellent grounding in the techniques of argument and interpretation of international law, as well as providing them with the opportunity to acquire expertise in how these elements are put to the test in very different contexts, ranging from protection of the environment, regulation of world trade to humanitarian protection. With over 25 qualifying options, there is the flexibility to decide the extent to which students focus on any specialist area of public international law. Our postgraduate students move into an extraordinarily wide range of careers. Many graduates either go into the legal profession or return to their previous legal careers with their experience and prospects enhanced by their experiences on the course.
