The department offers research students: advanced research training; expert supervision (each student is allocated two supervisors); frequent reviews and feedback on progress; departmental research seminars/work in progress sessions; well-equipped work bases, with excellent library and IT facilities; and support for research trips and conference attendance, inter-library loan. Our Careers and Employability Service offers a range of services including advice sessions, employer events, recruitment fairs and skills workshops – and once students have graduated, and they will have access to the service for life. Those who take up a postgraduate research opportunity with us will not only receive support in terms of close contact with supervisors and specific training related to students area of research, they will also benefit from dedicated careers advice from our Careers and Employability Service.
