Drawing on Surrey’s excellent research base and benefitting from strong links with practice, our programme is responsive to the dynamic and evolving nature of the primary and community care setting. It will advance your ability to critically analyse and lead on innovation and change in the workplace. General practice nurses (GNPs) provide a vital service in supporting people with long-term conditions, as well as providing a wide range of services and care such as screening, immunisation and health promotion. Our programme will teach you the necessary high-level clinical skills and in-depth understanding that is required to work successfully as a GPN. It benefits from strong links with practice, and is responsive to changing practice needs. Furthermore, it will guide you to display the values required in modern healthcare, such as compassion, advocacy, good communication and teamwork skills, and respect for patients’ privacy, dignity and individuality.
