This course students join an academic research group for the full year and work alongside PhD students and postdoctorates using our outstanding facilities and suite of state-of-the-art instruments including ICP-MS, NMR spectrometers, Raman microscopes, powder XRD, LC-MS and GC-MS instruments. Previous MRes Chemistry students have published their research in peer-reviewed journals. With an increase in the number of undergraduate degrees offering the MChem qualification, our Chemistry MRes allows BSc graduates to become equally competitive by studying for an enhanced qualification that will set them apart throughout their career. Our MRes degree is also a convenient entry point into the UK academic system for overseas students, and many of our MRes graduates go on to successfully complete a PhD. Three-quarters of the time spent on the MRes programme consists of a year-long research project, supervised by one of our excellent academics who research at the forefront of their field.
