This programme will prepare you to become a general class teacher in the age range 5-11 years, with a specialism in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) and in teaching foreign languages (French). You will undertake two placements - one in Lower Key Stage 2 and one in Upper Key Stage 2. In at least one of your school placements, you will practise and enhance your language teaching skills as well as gain general class teaching experience. You will get experience from two main school placements and teach in two age bands (one in Lower Key Stage 2 and the other in Upper Key Stage 2). The placements are in contrasting schools to give you a breadth of school-based experience, and in at least one of your placements you will practise and enhance your language teaching skills as well as gain general class teaching experience. You will learn at the University through a range of different teaching methods and group sizes, including lectures, seminars, practical workshops and tutorials. University-based sessions will be held in Norwich, a location which is widely regarded as one of the most attractive and friendly cities in Britain. The campus at the University of East Anglia is set in extensive parkland and the distinctive architecture is nationally acclaimed.
