BSc Economics with Accountancy is ideal if you’re seeking a thorough training in economic analysis with applications in accounting, business, management, financial markets and corporate finance. Taught through the combined expertise of the School of Economics and Norwich Business School, you’ll benefit from excellent teaching and learn everything you need to know to start a career in the financial side of business and management. This course also gives you the chance to spend your third year enhancing your degree with a placement year. **Course Structure**On this four-year course you’ll study a core set of compulsory modules in business finance and economics – plus a choice of optional modules to tailor your learning to your interests. **Year 1** You’ll study a number of compulsory modules in economics and business, allowing you to begin to develop crucial skills and knowledge. These introductory modules will cover economics, mathematics, statistics, business, and financial and management accounting. **Year 2** You’ll continue to strengthen your understanding of the macro and micro economy, alongside learning about the collection and analysis of data. In Introductory Econometrics you’ll build your statistical skills – and get the chance to apply them in a practical project in the module Econometrics Research Project. You will also choose optional modules from a diverse range offered by the School of Economics and Norwich Business School, covering areas such as corporate finance, financial accounting, management accounting and company law. **Year 3** In your third year, you will have the opportunity to spend 9-12 months in a full-time placement. This placement will allow you to gain invaluable working experience and employability skills in a relevant area of your choice. **Year 4** During your final year you’ll have the option to further your study of macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics. Alongside this you’ll choose modules from finance and business (e.g. financial markets, derivatives, risk management and alternative investing), economics (e.g. industrial organisation, labour, the environment, economic thought, public policy and the economics of sport) and business and accounting from the Norwich Business School.
