This BSc Business Finance and Economics with a Year Abroad is ideal if you’re seeking a thorough training in economic analysis with applications in business, management, financial markets and corporate finance.Taught through the combined expertise of the School of Economics and the Norwich Business School, you’ll learn everything you need to know to start a career in the financial side of business and management, with the added advantage of insight into economics. This course also gives you the chance to spend your third year living and studying abroad at one of 25 partner universities across Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. The time you’ll spend studying abroad is a fantastic chance to show future employers you have what it takes to succeed in an international setting, and get an insight into the economic issues of another country. **Course Structure**On this four-year course you’ll study a core set of compulsory modules in business, finance and economics – plus get a choice of optional modules to tailor your learning to your interests.**Year 1**You’ll study a number of compulsory modules in economics and business, allowing you to begin to develop crucial skills and knowledge. These introductory modules will cover economics, mathematics, statistics, business, and financial and management accounting.**Year 2**You’ll continue to strengthen your understanding of the macro and micro economy, alongside learning about the collection and analysis of data. In Introductory Econometrics you’ll build your statistical skills – and get the chance to apply them in a practical project in the module Econometrics Research Project. This module is also designed to enhance your employability. You’ll also investigate the financial decisions firms make in The Economics of Corporate Finance and choose from optional modules from the Norwich Business School including Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Business and Company Law.**Year 3**You’ll spend your third year at one of over 25 partner universities across Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. **Year 4**In your final year you’ll study a compulsory finance module, as well as the option to further your study of macroeconomics, microeconomics and econometrics. Alongside this you’ll choose modules from finance and business (e.g. derivatives, risk management and alternative investing), economics (e.g. industrial organisation, labour, the environment, economic thought, public policy and the economics of sport) and business and accounting from the Norwich Business School.
