The Leading research supports and enhances the teaching of our Sport Management MSc programme, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to work in the rapidly expanding global sports industry.​ Our academic staff is renowned internationally for their contribution to sport management research and have conducted research for a range of respected organisations including Sport England, the International Olympic Committee and the European Commission. With strong links existing between the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences and various sport management practitioners across the UK, we offer you the opportunity to undertake a research project in collaboration with sport organisations. In addition, we host guest speakers who present interesting and relevant case studies and provide opportunities for you to network with key players in the industry. You will regularly complete assignments and case studies on professional sport clubs and international mega event organisation. You'll also have the option to undertake a research project in collaboration with a sport organisation, something which many of our past students have taken advantage of. Key study areas include sport markets and industries, managing service quality in sport, economics of sport and leisure, management of human resources, research methods for sport management, sport management theory and practice, financial management, marketing management, strategic management and more.
