Computers are all-pervasive.  Almost every aspect of daily life from shopping in a supermarket or on-line, to driving a car or flying abroad depends on highly sophisticated computing systems.  The challenges in designing and delivering effective, safe and cost-effective systems require a complex integration of application knowledge, software and electronics, interfaced to a rapidly-changing world.  With continuing advances in technology, high user-expectations and increasing statutory requirements, there is a high-demand for skilled engineers in electronic computing.    A variety of assessment types are used throughout, with the exact balance depending on the options students choose. On completion of this course many of our students find jobs in related industries and in all sizes of companies from multi-nationals to small businesses. However, they graduate with strong mathematical, computing/programming, team working and technical management skills that are an integral part of our programmes. This means that they also have access to a very wide range of potential career paths outside of the more obvious ones, for example financial service industries which require creative people with strong mathematical and programming skills.
