In this course students will gain a deeper and broader understanding of the latest developments in the sector, engage critically with educational and management theory ideas and research and apply learning to their own practice. In addition, they will also learn from others in the group, and be encouraged to share good practice and develop links with colleagues from other organisations. Students on the MA Leadership and Management (Education) course are taught by a range of lecturers some who are university based, LEA based or even head teachers. This ensures the practice discussed is both relevant and up to date. Many students are able to transfer the learning directly into their school classroom or workplace, to enhance their skills and further their own career path. In common with all of the MA Education programmes, students will study the Managing, Teaching, Learning and Assessment and Research Methodology. A Masters degree is required for professional advancement in numerous occupations, and is widely seen as evidence of a successful commitment to high level professional development. As a result of successful study of the MA Leadership and Management (Education), a significant number of students have achieved senior management posts within educational settings.
